CanJam at RMAF: Eddie Current

Eddie Current
Craig Uthus has long been designing and building highly regarded tube gear with retro styling. His previous venture, Moth Audio made some of the coolest looking audio gear I've seen. Okay, maybe I'm "old school," but you can visit the Moth Audio Museum and check them out for yourself.

His current Eddie Current line of products includes three headphone amps and a phono stage. Ryan Clarin wrote very favorably in his InnerFidelity Balancing Act review, and I couldn't begin to count the number of times I've heard the Zana Deux recommended.

This time around, Craig we showing a prototype of his latest creation: The Super 7. Sporting seven 6SN7 tubes, each tube section has it’s own self bias circuit, so the tubes power share and don’t need to be matched. The output power is 2.5 watts into 8 ohms; has one RCA input; speaker outputs; front panel balanced four pin XLR; and 1/4” output jacks. Introductory price this month only without tubes is $1300.00; Craig charges $150 for seven Russian made Tung Sol tubes.

I heard this amp the first time he showed it and boy was I impressed. I enjoyed it much more then the woo audio 5. Obviously everyone has there own taste though. But I thought it had some of the best bass impact I have ever heard. I would love to hear your opinion.
