Headphone Music

Unlike my inaugural mix for AudioStream This Is a Test, which assembled immaculately produced music ideal for evaluating hi-fi gear, this next instalment is less suited for testing a pair of headphones than it is for enjoying them. While I am by no means suggesting that digital music is objectively the best use for a solid set of cans, this particular selection favors deep and moody electronic tracks that put a premium on bass, while not altogether foregoing the virtues of proper songwriting. – Scott Eastlick

as I thought you said headphone music, but I am missing the music part. What ever was there I could hear through my AKG K-701's clearly.

I'm with you, Jim. I must be old. I don't recognize a single piece of music on that list, and only a couple of the artists. Still, I'd love to listen to everything on the list. It's always great to discover new music.

... even when listening with a set of Stax headphones.
No enjoyment to be found anywhere on that list for me, either.

Could not listen to it. My ears literally rebelled.
Others im sure, will be more fortunate.
Best of luck.

I gave it a try, too. And, as Rafe pointed out, different strokes... I don't care for computer generated "music". My headphones test music includes Spyro Gyra, Steely Dan, Steve Winwood, Dire Straits, Rachmaninoff, Mahler, etc. I guess I am just old...

Saying something is not music because you're not fond of it is quite elitist. Funnily, an example of the use of "elitist" in the dictionary is: "older men with an elitist attitude about music".

Thanks for making the list.
